The Rule Book

As a parent finding fun and exciting ways to have your young children follow the rules can be challenging.  My son, the oldest, has hit the “I do it” stage and has gotten much worse when listening to the house rules.  We’ve always done time-outs, and they just don’t seem to work the best.  One weekend he got so bad we took every single thing out of his room.  We then reminded him of the rules and installed an iPad … Great read! Breastfeeding and the Law

Last year, there was a HUGE amount of concern over the passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA)(Pub.L. 111-148).  So many people where concerned that law was vague and that they would be fined for not having health insurance or that all people would be covered by state sponsored health insurance.  I read the law (well, I glanced through over 2000 pages of the law.  It was mostly blah blah blah….Secretary of Health can decide…blah blah blah) and … Great read! It’s a Motherlode!

Having a baby is hard. What comes next is harder. Having a baby is the most joyous experience of one’s life. I don’t disagree. But how I wish I had been given a dose of realism at some point, was given some sense of what to expect. Even an 8 week childbirth class couldn’t prepare me. I hope this blog can help prepare you, or support you in the early weeks when you feel like you’re the only one! Over … Great read! Show me more!

Don’t Forget to Tuck It In!

I felt a headache started to form as my 10 month old son squirmed on the floor. He was naked and resisting me as I tried to put on his diaper. His new trick? Waiting until I take off his wet diaper and then trying to (and sometimes succeeding to) stand up. I started the practice of changing him on the floor after her stood up and did his own reenactment of the superman leap off of the changing table. … Great read! Show me more!

Expanding Their Diet

broccoli and cauliflower

So, you made it through those rough early weeks and figured out a good latch and breastfeeding has actually become something you don’t have to work at too hard. Your baby is thriving, sitting up, clapping hands, grabbing things and putting them in their mouth. They have even begun grabbing at your food when they see you eating. You may be wondering when is the best time to start feeding your baby ‘solid’ food. The truth is that there are … Great read! Show me more!

Thoughtful Mamma in a Few (Or More) Words

I began my natural living journey over 10 years ago when I started exploring organics and eating healthier. While I still had a not so healthy addiction to sugar, I was trying to make a change for the better; switched to water over soda, started limiting red meat and butter and doing what I do best research and learn as much as possible. Over the last 10 years we have pretty much gone from a meat and cheese loving diet to … Great read! Show me more!

Produce – the Dirty Dozen to Eat Organic and the Clean Dozen

When selecting produce for your family, it is best to buy what you can organically. Many of us try to budget, and can’t eat all produce organic. But, please, pay attention to the list of the dirty dozen. I’m publishing this list in the hopes that it will help you decide where it is best to spend your “organic” dollars: This list is from the Environmental Working Group: 12 Most Contaminated Peaches Apples Sweet Bell Peppers Celery Nectarines Strawberries Cherries … Great read! Who Am I? a Parent, Naturally.

I first want to say that by no stretch of the imagination am I an expert on parenting.  I am, however, an expert on parenting Hannabert (my son, born February 2011).     I hope that my experiences help others believe in their own expertise in parenting their children their way. I have been married since 2009.  I am an avid reader (an electronic reader  makes pumping a little bit more enjoyable); enjoy cooking (especially using fresh finds from my … Great read! A Little About Me

I’d like to start by introducing myself and letting you get to know me. I have recently stopped Exclusive Pumping, but have done so for both of my kids. My experience with both couldn’t have been more different. Through my posts I hope to help and inspire you mostly through breastfeeding and pumping related topics. As my kids grow I hope my posts will too. But to start, the biggest thing I want to mention is that every child is … Great read! Show me more!

All About Mama!

I have one life, I intend to do it the way I want. My son has one life. I intend to get him started as good as I can. I think we all are on this earth (all beings) together, so we should be able to live together. I believe every action has consequences from the small to the large. I try to live very aware of everything. Aware of how what I do impacts those around me. I believe … Great read! Show me more!
